Using the Windows Character Map

The windows character map can be used to create commonly used special characters and symbols. In Windows 98, the character map can be found under the Start Menu, Programs, Accessories, System Tools. Click the icon for the character to map to cause it to display.

Once the character map is open, set the font to Arial, then locate the character you wish to create. To see the keystrokes that can be used to create a character, highlight the character you wish to create by clicking it with the mouse.

The keystrokes used will be shown in the lower righthand corner of the window. You can also copy and paste characters. Simply double-click the characters you wish to use, then click the Copy button. By right-clicking and selecting Paste, or by using Ctrl+V, you can paste the selected characters into one of the fields of the order form.
